Natural Light

Front Light – High Key

The reason I used this photograph, along with the two following, is they were the few that turned out. I did not have a good day in the field this week. In this photograph the sun is in the upper right corner and there is a lens flair going down to the left corner. I was hoping to get more of a silhouette of the trees, but ended up washing out some of the picture. The technical specifics were: f2 & 1/1000.

Back Light

This is a photograph of my own shadow. The film barely turned out and to get this picture to print decent took some work in the darkroom. The sun is directly behind and overhead me. If I remember correctly, it is about 1 in the afternoon here. Once again I used this photograph because it turned out, barely. The technical specifics were the same as the previous photograph at f2 & 1/1000.

Side Light – Low Contrast

This is a photograph of a section of a piece of playground equipment. The sun is to the right and overhead, casting a shadow down and to the left. This photograph turned out the best out of all of them on the roll. I also tried to make it so the shadows in the boot steps in the snow could be seen. The technical specifics were f2.8 and 1/1000.
